About Me
A curious engineer who enjoys figuring out how things work, sometimes making things do what they weren't really meant to do and figuring why they aren't working.
Where I'm Going
I’m an aspiring Software Developer with a keen interest in Cybersecurity and Threat Intelligence.
I’m curious by nature and enjoy building and understanding systems, which usually leads to breaking and fixing those same systems. Striving to write clean, efficient code and secure code.
Over the past few years, I’ve been sharpening my skills in:
-
Software Development – building applications with languages like Python and Rust, and diving into data analytics, web, mobile, and backend systems.
-
Cybersecurity Principles – learning how systems are attacked and how to protect them, with a focus on ethical hacking, vulnerability analysis, and digital forensics.
-
Threat Intelligence – exploring how data can be turned into actionable insights to detect, prevent, and respond to threats in real time.
Where I've Been
I started out as a car mechanic, then served as a marine engineer in the Royal Navy. From there I moved into oil and gas exploration onshore and offshore, working as a seismic instrumentation engineer. Which took me all over the world on many projects.
I have enjoyed most of it with plenty ups and downs along the way.
